ROYAL AUTOMOBILE CLUB FULL MEMBER'S BADGE. A rare and early second edition badge by Elkington & Co., in the Type 1 format but with a circular instead of a rectangle platform, dating circa 1909 with a nickel-plated finish. The large-spoked road wheel supported by a depiction of Mercury with double-sided single wings, a centrally-mounted rectangular three-colour union flag with good enamels, topped by a King's crown, the profile of Edward VII and RAC wording verso. 17.5 x 96 cms. Numbered B648. Not display-mounted.
