A KIA SEPTEMBER 1914 VICTORY MEDAL. Named to 8528 Pte A F Allen Ox & Bucks LI. Arthur Frank Allen of the 2nd Battalion Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, was the son of Arthur and the late Kate Elisabeth Allen of The Ship Inn, Sandwich, Kent. Aged 25 yrs, KIA Tuesday 8th September 1914. Commemorated on the La Ferte-Sous-Jouarre-Memorial in France. Born in Eastbourne Sussex, he enlisted in Stoke Newington, Middlesex. His Regiment landed in France 14/8/1914. taking part in The Retreat to Mons etc.
