A MEMORIAL PLAQUE TO THOMAS COATS. Of which there are two listed. 1. Second Lieutenant Thomas Coats of the 5th Battalion Cameron Highlanders. Died September 30th 1918 aged 22 years. The son of Robert & Henrietta Coats of 65 Cambuslang Road, Rutherglen, Glasgow. Dadizeele New British Cemetery. With a copied entry and photograph of 2/Lt Coats from Ruvigny's Roll of Honour. 2. Pte Thomas Coats 16254 C Coy 17th Battn Highland Light Infantry who died on 1st July 1916, age 27 yrs. The son of Matthew and Mary Buchanan Coats of 100 , George St, Paisley. (Glasgow Pals) He went to France with his Pals Battalion on the 22nd November 1915. Blighty Valley Cemetery, Authuille Wood.
