Lot 482
A Diamond Framed Safety Bicycle. Dating circa 1893, original a cushion-tyred machine but now with more useable pneumatics, it has a 24-inch black painted frame created from small section tubing, delightful 24-inch swept handlebars, with a lever-operated plunger brake and turned grips, inch-pitch block chain with a 6-inch chain wheel, foot rests on the front forks and period wheel hubs. A rebuilt brown leather saddle completes the ensemble. Note: Further research demonstrates that this bicycle is a Model ‘P’, and manufactured by Guest & Barrow c1893.
