A FLINTLOCK PISTOL BY BRANDER. (WB)
Three generations of the Brander family made Flintlock Pistols, this one has the WB on the 7.1/2" brass barrel among the London Proof Marks. W Brander worked in the Minories from 1750-1825, under extensive Government Contracts. Mainly Flintlock Holster Pistols and Muskets.
The pistol has brass furniture and Brander on the steel lockplate, and a brass buttplate. Octagonal then round barrel, with brass escutcheon plate and ornate brass sideplate of Banners and Castle etc. Brander London on the barrel top, 13.1/2" overall length.
