A LATE VICTORIAN SEAFORTH HIGHLANDERS CROSS-HILTED BROADSWORD AND SCABBARD.
With an 84cm tapering pointed blade with partial central fuller, profusely etched with a crown above 'Seaforth Highlanders Ross Shire B F S', amongst seventeen thistles and foliage, the other side with VR monogram and prince of Wales feathers, the blade marked for Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall and numbered 33204 to the back suggesting a date of 1895. With a straight cross bar and fish skin bound handle and domed pommel and pierced nut. With a leather covered scabbard with steel mount with ball finial, 100cm overall.
