Secret Court Memoirs, 20 volumes, 'Magnifique Edition', one of five sets only printed on japon paper, this set lettered 'A', the plates present in three states, on japon, india and laid papers, the latter with the plates coloured by hand, publisher's dark green full morocco, tooled elaborately gilt, the cover with a central fleurs-de-lys design with light green morocco onlays, surrounded by a border of foliate and floral design, the spines tooled gilt in compartments, repeating these floral motifs, green silk and morocco doublures, the inner cover in full morocco with elaborate floral border in gilt, a central panel in contrasting morocco, those for the upper cover with an additional onlaid ovoid panel of white calf with a hand-coloured engraving of a female nude, indistinctly signed, top edge gilt, 8vo, London: The Grolier Society, [1904]
