A rare group of three theatre programmes for plays staged at Windsor Castle, each titled, 'By Command, Her Majesty's Servants will Perform,at Windsor Castle...', then individually by performance, the series directed by Charles Kean, the scenery arranged by Thomas Grieve, each with a full cast, the details printed letterpress on a folded sheet, the borders formed from an elaborately pierced design, the Royal Arms debossed above the text, 186mm x225mm, Chapman & Company, 1854-1857
The plays are: 'On Thursday, January 15th, 1857, A Comedy, in Five Acts, by Richard Brindsley Sheridan, entitled, The School for Scandal', 'On Wednesday, January 28th, 1857, A Drama, in Two Acts (From the French of Messrs Melesville and C. Duveyrier) by Mr J.R. Planche, entitled Secret Service', and 'On Thursday, February 5th, 1857, Shakespeare's Play, in Five Acts, of King Richard II'.
