LENTON, JOHN. A manuscript volume titled 'Instrumental Musick Performed before his Maj.ty on New years day 1702... Composed by John Lenton Composer to his Maj.ty', First Treble Part only. In the hand of the same scribe throughout, the final sheet signed 'J.L.' suggesting this manuscript may be autograph. The dedication reads 'To The Most Illustrious Princess, Her Royall Highness, Princess Anne of Denmarke, The Author Humbly dedicates'. The music comprises ten numbered movements, some titled; (1) Overture, (2), (3), (4), (5), (6) Hornpipe, (7), (8) Minuett, (9) Very Slow, (10).
