Two quarto hardbound volumes, the first with board covers and a cloth spine, the paper cover sealed to the front board reading: The Gipsy Journal and British Tourist - A Magazine for Pedestrians & Cyclists, and dated 1896. The title page itself is headed Gipsy Jottings: A Miscellany, and the Index to the 186 pages in the volume lists a large variety of articles with some illustrations. The other volume, in plain light grey cloth covers, holds the weekly issues of Sport & Play, with which is incorporated The Athlete, From Vol. VI, No. 297, October 6, 1891 to Vol. VI, No. 309, December 29, 1891, bound with their covers, and well-illustrated with many cycling images and advertisements.
