A c1880 Hillman, Herbert & Cooper Hub Lamp. A rear opening lamp manufactured for the significant retailer, Clement & Company of 20 Rue Brunel, Paris. A complete lamp, with its correct oil reservoir, pick-wick wick collar and ventilator, hasp locked rear door, barrel hub with later leather bearers, adjustable centralising antennae (one leather feeler missing) and all glasses intact, to include the tell-tale red rear glass. This rare lamp was restored a number of years ago; the enamel has mellowed nicely. 7-inches (18cm) high.
