A H. Miller & Co. 'Cyclight' Candle Lamp. British manufacturers from the 1880s exported to many European countries, and almost exclusively candle lamps to the French market. These were essentially adaptations of the standard Safety Bicycle oil lamps, but with the addition of a candle tube with a coil spring to raise the candle into position. This is one such example manufactured circa 1892 in Birmingham before export, in complete original condition, all glasses are intact although the near side red glass has cracked. The rear reflector is missing. 10½-inches (27cm) high.
