Telcote Pup 'Bonzo'. A mascot depicting the cartoon character by Augustine & Emile Lejeune, a hollow-cast bronze body with diamond cut red glass eyes, 'Bonzo' stamped on the side, and 'Telcote Pup' impressed in his collar and 'AEL Copyright' at the rear. This mascot of the mid-1920s was inspired by a French Bulldog, a comic book character created by the illustrator George E. Studdy which he named 'Bonzo'. A French design, English manufacture. The larger of two sizes available in the 1920s, 5½-inches (14cm) long, not mounted.
