Mon Ami Mate. The bright brief lives of Mike Hawthorn & Peter Collins, by Chris Nixon (unopened new copy sealed in cellophane wrapping); and Mike Hawthorn, Golden Boy. Also, The life and Death of Britain's first World Champion driver, by Tony Bailey and Paul Skilleter, 2009 reprint. Both in excellent condition. Together with two black-and-white photographs of Hawthorn with his Mark II Jaguar, each image measuring 13 x 21cm, the two in one cardboard mount, overall dimensions 41 x 30.5 cm., headed 'Mike Hawthorn, January 1959 in black ink, and with a note on the back reading, This photograph was to accompany an advert for Raydyot Lamps endorsed by Mike shortly before he was killed on January 22 1959. The advertisement was never issued. (3)
