Lot 137

Mannin Moar of 1933.  Six monochrome photographs by Thomas Keig of the 'Great Man' event for racing cars with engines over 1500cc and supercharged voiturettes, held on 14 July 1933. These photographs were probably taken during practice, although this is by no means certain. They depict: the start line at Douglas showing the winner Brian Lewis in his Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Monza, Tim Rose-Richards in his Bugatti Type-51 and coming in third, George Eyston in car No. 11, another Alfa Romeo 8C 2300; also a view of A.C. Lace spinning his Invicta and Tim Rose-Richards rounding a corner in the Type 51. These photographs are 6 x 8-inches. Also, postcards of the Type 51 at rest; Needham in his Frazer Nash and line of cars, probably after the start. All in good fettle, the larger images with good contrast. (6)
