An 1896 Plaster Maquette of the Jules Miesse 'La Torpille' Steam Car. A rare and original maquette having a painted terracotta finish, depicting Jules Miesse seated at the wheel of his three-cylinder, steam-powered voiturette. Inscribed on the front of the plinth, 'Jules Miesse - Au Volant de sa Premier Automobile a Vapeu La Torpille - 1896'. Some plaster loss to the base and several old repairs, 17-inches (43-cms) long.
