EDMUND DULAC (1882-1953)
AMICAL SOUVENIR
Signed, inscribed to E B Lintott./ amical souvenir/ Edmund Dulac/ . Dec. 1904 - in the lower margin, watercolour and pencil
22 x 14.5cm.
Provenance: In 1904, aged 22, Dulac studied at the Academie Julian in Paris (albeit for less than a month) and might have met Lintott at that time before leaving for England to establish himself in London by 1906. Edward Barnard Lintott (1875-1951) was a Paris-trained portrait- and landscape painter and produced some illustrative work in the first decade of the 20th Century. The title translates as `kind regards` but can also mean `warm recollection`.
