BERNARD CASPAR HARDY (1726-1819): PAIR OF RELIEF SCULPTURES. A pair of late 18th or early 19th century wax studies of a gentleman in a green jacket selling fruit, and a lady carrying cauliflowers and other vegetables in her apron. Both framed and glazed, 21 x 17cm. Hardy worked in Cologne at the turn of the century, he is considered one of the finest exponents of his craft favouring the then fashionable romantic subjects popular with painters.
