OLIVER MOREL (1916-2003) - COTSWOLD SCHOOL DINING TABLE, 1970 a large oval mahogany dining table, supported on 4 curved legs and a cruciform shaped base. The side of the top with a raised beaded edge in ebony and boxwood. With a silver coloured plaque underneath, Oliver Morel, 1970. 147cms by 123cms, 73cms high *Oliver Morel was a furniture maker and teacher who made his furniture in the Arts and Crafts tradition. In 1934 he became an apprentice at the famous Edward Barnsley Furniture Workshop in Hampshire. He moved to Moreton-in-Marsh in the 1960's where he established a workshop making high quality furniture in the Cotswold tradition. This and the following lots come from a private collection.
