probably 19thc, a circular red lacquer box carved with a depiction of a scholar and assistant in a river landscape, with a chequered design to the sides (12.5cms diameter). Also with a smaller 19thc cinnabar circular box carved with a single figure in a garden and surrounded by lappets. (6cms diameter). (2)
