MARTIN BROTHERS - RARE GOBLET an unusual stoneware chalice or goblet in the form of a font, with a spiral twist stem supporting a tapering bowl with floral design and cross hatch border around the rim. The base pierced and with a chevron border. Impressed marks, R W Martin Bros, London, Southall. 13.5cms high.
++ There is an area to the rim which we think has been restored (see images 19 and 20), the rim has an inner line which runs for around 5-6cms, this area is much smoother to the touch and when looking down looks wider than the rest of the rim. There is some kiln residue in places to goblet, which is visible in areas to the stem and bowl.
