A 17TH CENTURY EBONISED BRACKET CLOCK BY CHARLES HALSTED,
the 7" dial with silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals and cherubs head spandrels, the matted centre with twin winding holes, date aperture with engraved surrounding and pendulum window engraved 'Chas. Halsted London', on an eight day two train fusee movement striking on a bell, with a later anchor escapement and detachable pendulum, the back plate signed Chas. Halsted London within elaborate scrolling decoration. Lacking key, height excluding handle 33cm
*Charles Halsted worked between 1656-1705, apprenticed to the Clockmaker's Company in 1670 he was made a freeman in 1677.
