A MID 19TH CENTURY RUSSIAN NIELLO-WORK VESTA CASE in the form of a slipper, with hinged cover and the cyrillic text for Kavkas*, maker's mark "XC", Novocherkask 1859; 3.5" (9 cms) long; 1 oz *Kavkas is the Russian name for the Caucasus region and port Kavkas is on the Taman peninsular in the Black Sea.
