A RARE WILLIAM & MARY MOUNTED MALACCA WALKING CANE The knop; shaped like a cannon barel with lappets at the lower end, inscribed "AD1691" and engraved on the top with owner's details in a very decorative, scrollwork script "Sam. Courtenay Lime Regis"*, unmarked c.1691; 38.5" (98 cms) long *Samuel Courtenay, a prominent merchant, he married Elizabeth Parbury on 30th Sept 1784. They resided via dwelling house in the Butter Market and Sanuel was Mayor of Lyme Regis from 1719-1726.
