of canted rectangular form with a reeded border, incised "CAPE MADEIRA"*, by Thomas & James Phipps and Edward Robinson, London 1815; 1.2" (4.23 cms) long; 0.25 oz
*This was Madeira that had endured a sea voyage down the coast of Africa and round the Cape of Good Hope, as ballast which must have had an effect on its maturing and flavour.
