A PAIR OF GEORGE III WINE GOBLETS with gadrooned pedestal bases and pail-shaped bowls with gilt interiors, each engraved on one side with the script initials "WH" and on the other with a drapery cartouche surmounted by a tied ribbon and inscribed:- "He who is happy in his friends and makes them happy too, Pursues thro"life its truest ends and brightens every view, To such a one these cups are sent for temperate employ And may each Potion give content, each object social Joy Dec 20th 1805" by either Henry Nutting or Hannah Northcote, London 1805; 6.9" (17.5 cms) high; 20.6 oz (2)
