CAPE:- A rare George III beaded oval wine label, incised "HAVEPOOT".*, maker's mark "I.B", possibly John Bassingwhite overstriking another, London 1785-90 (no date letter); 1.75" (4.5 cms) long; 0.32 oz *Havepoot is a corruption of hanepoot; meaning a rooster's foot in Afrikaans, which is the shape of the leaf on a Muscat grape vine.
