AN ELABORATE MEDIEVAL STRAP END.
A Medieval Elaborate Strap End, c. 14th Century. The copper-alloy strap end formed of two sheets, each cut to mirror the other in elaborate design. The front sheet with incised and stamped decoration, at the top a pattern with similarities to scales, the reverse plain. Both sheets held by two rivets, one end securely held the other loose. Green patina, the reverse sheet has a bend on each lower loop and a few chips, one loop slightly raised on the front. PAS Record ID: DOR-0F9F47. 5.01g, 45mm long, 15mm wide.
