A WICHESTER COLLEGE QUINCENTENARY MEDAL BY GEORGE FRAMPTON.
A large bronze medal, obverse with a robed figure of the Archbishop to the centre, seated on a throne, crozier in his right hand, a model of Winchester cathedral in his lap, 'This medal was struck in commemoration of the five hundredth anniversary', signed G. Frampton below the throne, the reverse with Winchester College amongst clouds and armorial. 7.5cm, in distressed Pinches case of issue. (Eimer 1785).
Exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1908, this medal was presented to the Governors and Housemasters of the College.
