A FIRST WORLD GROUP OF FOUR TO THE ROYAL NAVY.
A Great War group of four comprising 1914-15 Star named to 343190 T.Harper SHPT 1. R.N, War and Victory Medals similarly named and Long Service and Good Conduct Medal named to Thomas Harper, SHPT HMS Europa. Thomas Harper from Portsmouth was born on the 4th of October 1880, he served in the Royal Navy from 15/1/1900 until 20/2/1919, rising to the rank of Shipwright 1st Class by April 1915. His first ship was Duke of Wellington II, HMS Europa was a Cruiser of the Diadem Class spending much of her War in the Mediterranean, between 1915 and 919 she was Flagship at Mudros.
