TWO FIRST WORLD WAR PAIRS TO THE BENTLEY FAMILY IN INDIA.
A Great War pair comprising War Medal and Victory Medal named to 20111 WKR E.H. Bentley QMAAC. In original box and envelopes of issue addressed to Mrs E H Bentley 5 Buckingham Gardens Perambour Barracks India. Ethel Bentley is recorded as a worker with Queen Mary's Army Auxiliary Corps. Individually mounted with pins for wear. A similar pair named to 466806 SPR A. Bentley R.E., unworn in box of issue, the envelope addressed to A. Bentley at 9 Buckingham Gardens. Arthur Bentley is recorded as a Sapper with the Royal Engineers and Royal Engineers Transport (2288). An enclosure slip shows Mr Bentley with an address of 10 Seldons Street, Wilton, Blackburn. Given the similarities of the addresses on the delivery envelopes it seems highly likely that Ethel and Arthur Bentley were related.
