A German Enlisted Mans steel belt buckle with the motto 'Meine ehre heiBt Treue
' (My Honour is Loyalty), possibly a mid-war example, unmarked, 4.7 x 6.5cm, on a short strip of leather stamped 'G.H.OSANG Dresden 1940. Second World War or later.
This buckle is illustrated, front and back in Nash, P. German Belt Buckles 1845-1945. p228 where it is described 'Unmarked mid-war steel buckle. Catch possibly replaced. Leather tab does not belong on this buckle'.
