A SECOND WORLD WAR GERMAN ENLISTED MANS SS BELT BUCKLE.
A German Enlisted Mans SS steel Belt Buckle, with the motto 'Meine ehre heiBt Treue' (My honour is my Loyatly), by Overhoff, stamped 'O & C ges. gesch'. 5 x 6.3cm. Second World War or later.
This buckle is illustrated, front and back in Nash, P. German Belt Buckles 1845-1945. p211-212 where it is described as 'Early Overhoff Steel buckle, circa 1931. NB: the tabs over the pin have been straightened out on this example but even so it can be seen that this is not the late type of steel buckle with long ears enclosing the roller.
