AN UNUSUAL VARIANT 1803 LIGHT COMPANY SABRE. With a broad 75cm curved single sided blade with shallow fuller, with gilt engraving against a blued background of a crown above conjoined initials and a standing figure of a Light Company Officer wearing a Tarlton pattern helmet, Royal coat of arms, crossed baton and sword and other motiffs, the guard of double S bar type with a central slung bugle in a circle, with a wire wound ebony grip and gilt lions head pommel, in a leather scabbard with three mounts with scrolling details, 93cm overall.
