A PISTOL BY J & W RICHARDS
A Coat Pistol by J & W Richards with conversion from flintlock to percussion, possibly by Lowe. On the steel action with sliding safety is the first named, on the hammer conversion the latter. Chequered butt with steel furniture, 6.3/4" octagonal barrel with Crown over CP and R over I & J above a Crown over V. 12.1/4" overall length.
J & W Richards are recorded as working at Staining Lane , London between 1808 & 1810.
