A 1914/15 Star, British War & Victory Medals named to 2143 Pte P Higgs 21-Lond.R.
Percy Higgs served with his Regiment in France (21st County of London Regt 1st Surrey Rifles) from the 16th March 1915.
He was Killed in Action on the 26th May 1915. A notation on his MIC states Star no disposal 1920.
Rifleman Percy Higgs was the son of Daniel and Caroline Higgs of Lorna Cottage, Byfleet, Surrey. Aged 21. He was serving with the 1st/21st Battalion when he was KIA. Commemorated on the Le Touret Memorial Panel 45.
Mostly Soldiers of the Territorial Battalions from mainly 1915 Battles.(He died officially the day after the Battle of Festubert 15-25th May 1915), are commemorated on this Memorial.
