A POLYNESIAN ISLANDS PADDLE CLUB.
An intricately carved Paddle Club, with leaf shaped blade. Geometric designs which include figures (4) and other inset designs to the damaged club head. The shaft shows an attempt to repair a natural fault in the hardwood used. Spine and cross member are raised on the shaft/head, the flared pommel is pierced for a cord or the suchlike retainer to the wrist. 13" paddle head with 5" width, both edges having lost their original dimensions. A crack is also evident, from natural aging or usage. 41.1/4" overall length.
