A 1914 STAR/BAR Gt WAR TRIO Spr-2/Lt S A MAWSON (MID EMBLEM)
A 1914 Star with Clasp named to 21129 Spr S Mawson. British War & Victory Medals (the latter with Oak Leaf affixed) named to 2/Lt S A Mawson.
Sidney Alfred Mawson served with the 5th Field Coy Royal Engineers in France from the 15/8/1914. Later commissioned into the 5th Battalion the South Wales Borderers. (Pioneer Battalion)
He was awarded the Mons Star with the R Engineers awarded 9/12/1919 and his Mons clasp (list 1590) award dated 9/8/1920. His British War and Victory Medals were awarded 26/10/1921. His address was then Pineville , West Cliff Gardens, Bournemouth. His Commanding Officer 5th SWB applied for his 1914 Star in 1917, then again in 1919. See MIC details.
