A MONMOUTH REGIMENT PAIR & PLAQUE. (16th Battn RWF) A British War & Victory Medal pair named to 60121 Pte J H Tibbs Monmouth R. A Memorial Plaque named to John Henry Tibbs, in card box of issue. John Henry Tibbs aged 23 yrs, was Killed in Action 5/11/1918, six days before the guns fell silent. The son of William and Sarah Jane Tibbs of 37, Elcam Avenue, Blaenavon, Monmouthshire, he was serving in the 16th Battalion Royal Welch Fusiliers at that time. Buried in Plot 4, Row F, Grave 20, Caudry British Military Cemetery, France. Originally No 60121, then No 94178 when transferred to the RWF. MIC details confirm a pair only.
