A silver item being a Cufflink or Coat Clasp, recovered from the wreck of HMS Association. Button sized with link fitting, decorated with Tudor Roses, complete with a Certificate dated 10/2/2014.
HMS Association with Admiral Shovell, was in Convoy with 20 Men of War, when he decided to press on during a gale, in October 1707. His haste sent four mighty ships and 1800 men to their watery graves. His body was recovered from rocks, on the Isles of Scilly. He was transported to London and buried in state.
Described as a Hero of his day almost to the point of folly, his 90 Gun Flagship was discovered some 300 years later.
