THE MEDALS OF S-MAJOR STROUD. ROYAL ULSTER RIFLES.
1939/45 Star, France & Germany Star, War Medal, General Service Medal bar Palestine 1945-48 named to 14426791 Pte G C Stroud R.U.R. Territorial Efficiency Medal bar T & A V R (QE11 issue) named to S Sgt G C Stroud RE. Boxed Normandy Medal with miniature numbered 17101. Boxed Voluntary Service Medal named to Pte G C Stroud Wilts Regt
Staff Sergeant Stroud volunteered for service in the Wiltshire Regiment, taking part in the D Day Landings. In the campaign to liberate Europe he was wounded by a gunshot to the hip. Sent home he upon recovery transferred to the Royal Ulster Rifles, serving in the Palestine Campaign.
Serving in the Territorial Army after the war in the Royal Engineers, awarded his TEM with post 1969 ribbon.
The first five medals are mounted for wear.
