Addressed box of issue and 1939/45-Pacific Star and War medals, awarded to 7649027 Pte Harry Roche RAOC. Also a scrap album with letters and POW documents regarding absolute obedience to the Japanese 'Dai Nippon Gun'.
Sailing to first Africa thence Java where surrender upon arrival took place, 3rd March 1942.
Prison Camp notices, Tandjon Priok Camp and British Orders to bow when the Japanese are present etc. Any Prisoners sitting when a Japanese Officer appeared were to leap to attention and salute in the prescribed manner.
Letter and notes from other fellow Prisoners from Australia etc, he received after the Japanese Surrender. How to rejoin civilian life monies due, etc.
