A BUCKINGHAMSHIRE YEOMANRY QSA WITH THREE BARS. A Queens South Africa Medal with bars Cape Colony-South Africa 1901 and South Africa 1902. Named to 25246 Cpl E Smeeton 38th Coy Imp Yeo. (High Wycombe) Part of the 10th Battalion Imperial Yeomanry, the Bucks Yeomanry sent two contingents of 120 men at a time. A L/Cpl E Smeaton is listed as being accidentally wounded in the action at Wonderfontein 11th June 1901. On this day the Company had Pte Lucas KIA, L Sjt Gillham Wounded (Since Died). Privates Povey & Britwell slightly wounded, also Pte Healy injured.
