19th century, the hinged cover enclosing a fully fitted interior with ivory accessories above a silk lined drawer, turned columns and stretcher and lion paw feet, the whole black lacquered with gilt decoration the cover with numerous courtiers in a palace surrounded by trees in a scrolling frame, the border of dragons amongst clouds with smaller cartouches and other images, the sides and interior similarly decorated, height 76cm, width 63cm, depth 43cm
