FRENCH CHAMPLEVE CARRIAGE CLOCK, circa 1880, the enamelled dial with black roman numerals and inscribed Le Roy & Fils, Paris, above a subsidiary alarm dial and surrounded by scrolling foliate enamels, on a bottom wind, brass, four pillar, eight day repeater movement, striking half hourly to a gong, with later outer case, height excluding handle 14.5cm Footnote: this clock was fully restored in 2006 by Stephen Jackman at West Dean College and comes with a comprehensive record of its restoration.
