Quarter length, wearing a russet cloak, bears indistinct inscription identifying the sitter lower left (Fleetwood Do.......) and indistinct inscription lower right (Aetatis suae 78 ....), within a painted oval, oil on canvas, unframed

* Dormer (1657-1723) was a lawyer, recorder (1695-1718), Commissioner of Prizes (c.1706) and Master in Chancery (1710-1721). He was an MP (1696-1722)He died at the age of 66 in 1723 but the inscription suggests that the sitter was 78 when this was painted.
