*Arthur Hart & Son were initially owned by Sparks & Gidley, Viney Bridge Mill, Crewkerne, and had been in operation since 1789. It became Hart & Son in 1883 and merged with Richard Hayward & Co, an old established sailcloth firm in 1946, with Gundry's of Bridport taking a financial interest.
