A WILLIAM MOORE PERCUSSION TARGET PISTOL.
A William Moore of London percussion target pistol of considerable weight. Caused in the main by the octagonal barrel of 10" length with small caliber rifled finish. Spur on the trigger guard and a fine balance shows the makers quality of workmanship, for which he was well known. Chequered pistol grip with steel buttplate and furniture. Steel action with ornate engraving and sliding safety catch, 16" overall length.
William Moore was a maker of quality Flintlock weapons including Duelling Pistols and rifled pistols etc, C1790-1835 period.
