A PERCUSSION POCKET PISTOL.
A percussion pocket pistol with swivel ramrod and octagonal 3.1/2" barrel, marked Harcourt Ipswich on the barrel top. engraved circular action with centre-fire hammer. Chequered grip with devils mask buttplate, concealed trigger and silver escutcheon plate. 7.1/2" overall length.
John Harcourt of Ipswich was known for quality weapons he made, including Flintlock Duelling Pistols and Holster and pocket pistols etc. Recorded as working between 1780 and 1830.
