A SCOTTISH RIFLES PRESENTATION SWORD.
A high quality presentation sword by Edward Thurkle of 5 Denmark St. Soho. London. Silver plated mounts with Victorian crown and underslung bugle, with silver bullion sword knot. Very clean 33" blade with foilage decoration and the following inscription. Presented to Colonel A H Courtenay Commandant 3rd & 4th Battalions Scottish Rifles by his brother officers on the occasion of his Silver Wedding and 28 Years Service in the Regiment. 13th January 1900.
The son of Thomas Lefroy Courtenay and Mary Ellen Mildmay Fullerton, educated privately and at Trinity College Dublin.
